Middle School - Berkeley, Ca.
In one district alone, social media is 80% of the reason for suspensions in the school for the 2021-22 school year. If you want to change the narrative, it’s time to provide a prevention approach instead of intervention.
Monique engages her crowd to leave, feeling like they’ve had an experience. She takes a negative experience on social media and turns it into a positive lesson for all students.
In recent years, the negative effect of social media on school-age children and teens has been at an all-time high. It has led to a high rate of (a.) Anxiety (b.) Cyber-bullying Attacks (c.) Depression (d.) Peer Pressure (e.) Sleep Disruption and overall poor well-being for students. To prevent further harm, protect students developing minds, and promote better well-being, the social media assembly, training, or group will equip all stakeholders with tools using the lens of emotional intelligence to reduce the adverse harm social media can cause if left unaddressed.
The Day will provide awareness on the following topics; Cyber Bullying, Subliminal posts, Exposure, and Threats. These four Pillars will be thoroughly addressed using strategies to manage your emotions and reactions through the lens of emotional intelligence while navigating social media.
